The Benrinnes Distillery first produced spirit back in 1826 and was known originally between 1974 and 2007 for producing a partially triple distilled spirit. The distillery itself has been through a tough time, fires and floods have meant it has been rebuilt a number of times and been through a few owners. The distillery is now owned by Diageo and it is used for their well known blends. It was first well known though for producing spirit for use in Crawford’s blended whiskies and was known for its 15 year old vintage.

North Star Spirits is an independent bottler based in Glasgow, Scotland. They pride themselves on bottling the finest single malt Scotch whisky, blended whisky and blended malt Scotch whisky. Producing artisan single cask whisky from various regions of Scotland as well as bottling rums, gins and Bourbon whiskey. All products are small batch, bottled at cask strength.

An exceptionally tasty single malt from Benrinnes wich was distilled in 2012 and left to mature for no less than 8 years in an Oloroso sherry barrique. It was bottled in June 2021 at 51% abv with only 214 bottles being made available.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Middle Eastern spices, black pepper, floral notes of lavender and manuka honey.

Taste: Creamy caramel, salted butter, flaky pastry and dark fruits.

Finish: Warm ginger snap biscuits, milky coffee and baking spices.
